Revit Structure Foundations - Project Delivery
Building projects are beginning to demand the use of Building Information Modeling. Structural engineering firms are central to the BIM team. The Delivering a Project in BIM course examines the vast potential of the Revit platform and how best to work with the entire BIM team – architect, mechanical and electrical engineers and contractors. In addition to learning how to use the model to generate standard drawings, this course shows the various other potential uses of the modeled information including the preparation of the model for use in industry-standard analysis programs. At the end of the course, the student will be able to start work on a Revit project or become a useful member of a Revit project team.
Who should take this course?
Structural Engineers, technicians, designers, project managers who want to improve their understanding of Revit Structure and working with a BIM team.
Who should not take this course?
CAD users who want to replace their current CAD program with Revit. Revit is more than a CAD application; it is the core of a true Building Information Modeling direction and this course sets the foundation for its many benefits.
Prerequisites:
None, although basic computer application knowledge is a benefit. In addition, knowledge of building technology and construction is valuable.
What you should expect after taking this course:
Participate on a Revit project team; understand the potential and functionality of the Revit platform.
Follow-up:
As part of a complete Revit implementation, the Delivering a Project in BIM course should be followed up by work on a project and eventually Drawings, BIM and Beyond training based on the needs of that project.
