Project Vasari - BIM for Building Performance
This 2-day course is an introduction to this powerful sustainability analysis platform. Users will gain an understanding of a wide range of simulation and analysis functionality through the desktop and web-service platforms contained in Revit, Project Vasari and Green Building Studio. The course will begin by helping attendees master the conceptual design tools. By the end of the course students will be able to also utilize the powerful 3D tools to explore solar, shadows, wind patterns, CFD and conceptual energy analysis of their conceptual model. They will also be able to quickly evaluate multiple design alternatives for energy efficiency and carbon neutrality to effectively communicate these to clients and add value to their designs.
Who should take this course?
Designers who wish to gain better insight into building performance early in the process, helping to achieve more sustainable designs and lower project costs. Engineers wishing to explore design options quickly at the early stages of a design to provide useful feedback for architects. Designers wishing to use Revit to explore early conceptual masses.
Prerequisites:
None, but basic familiarity with the Revit platform is recommended.
What you should expect after taking this course:
You should be able to use the tools within Project Vasari to explore multiple design options and weigh their respective environmental and building performance related merits. Users will become proficient in creating parametric conceptual masses and obtaining feedback from their designs.
