Training/Knowledge Development
At Summit, we offer training and knowledge development to meet the needs of your project teams. In order to do this, we offer a variety of delivery methods.
Custom Training and Knowledge Development
The majority of our knowledge development services are offered in a customized format at a time appropriate to your team. This takes into account the needs of the project, usually as set out in your BIM Execution Plan. All of our training sessions are focused on delivering real buildings via our staff who have experience in the field, understanding what is required to do this properly.
Foundations (open enrollment) Training
Although we recommend custom training in most situations, a good foundation is always needed to best take advantage of the in-depth material of our custom offerings. In addition, there are times when, given our busy schedules, open enrollment training is simply more convenient. Even this training is different than the standard deliverable many have come to expect. Our professionals still aim to utilize real building delivery situations, not simply training based on standard manuals.
All of our current training is based on the 2013 Autodesk products unless noted otherwise. The following is the schedule for our open-enrollment training courses.

Knowledge Development at Summit
In order to best take advantage of the potential of BIM in a project environment, appropriate information should be delivered to project team members when they need it. The content of this training should respond to those needs, not simply be a standard training course. That is why we call our custom training “Knowledge Development”; we want your team members to have the appropriate knowledge available to them in a timely fashion.
The proper development of knowledge in a BIM environment depends on a number of factors including people – both the appropriate people from your organization as well as from our extensive pool of resources; timing – when in the project schedule and in what increments; material – the appropriate material to meet project needs. In most cases, this requires a customized deliverable augmented by the necessary Foundations training above.
Industry Experts
Since most of our staff are experienced in the field, their aim is to provide you with an interesting, engaging experience with practical examples. They are able to discuss complex issues concisely and clearly and meet the differing needs of students in the course. Read all about our trainers here.
Our Mobile Training Classroom
In order to facilitate training wherever you happen to be, we now have two 6-station training labs. All you need to supply is a space - meeting or boardroom will do - and within ½ hour, we will have the room setup and ready to deliver any of our various training programs.
