Summit Announces New Courses in BIM
Summit is now offering a series of new training courses that recognize your need to actually produce better buildings with Autodesk software. Our courses address the real needs of building designers and the additional BIM benefits. We will be announcing the following training courses on our training page shortly.
- Project Delivery – formerly Revit Foundations
In this course, the new Revit user will find out how to deliver their first project in a BIM environment. You will set up a project, determine the uses for BIM, start working on the model and determine how best to deal with traditional deliverables while still maintaining a BIM process.
- Drawings, BIM and Beyond – formerly Revit In-Depth
In this course, the BIM user will explore the true potential of BIM. First they will address some of the alternative ways of presenting traditional information. Then there will be a complete session on component development including creation for more than just a graphic representation. Schedules will also be addressed in more detail. In addition there will be a complete discussion of working in a multi-user environment.
- Leveraging BIM for Building Performance
In this course, Revit users will develop the skills necessary to harness the conceptual modeling and energy analysis tools available in Revit and Project Vasari. Users will explore how early decisions can lead to designs that are environmentally responsible, use less energy and provide healthier environments. Attendees will learn how to build parametric masses, quickly develop site context, rationalizing surfaces and using analysis to inform design. The suggested workflow will allow users to justify design decisions through early analysis and better communicate value of green building strategies to clients.
- BIM at the Early Design Stages
In this course, attendees will become proficient in the use of the conceptual design tools within Revit, from the creation of parametric masses, to exploring different design options and rationalizing their surface through panels. The course will include a discussion of possible workflows that integrate external software. The course will also expose strategies for displaying information and planning for a smooth transition into more refined stages.
